June 17-21, 2018
Overview - Jewish Professionals Institute
Hadar is holding a four-day Summer Institute geared toward Jewish professionals, including synagogue, Hillel, social justice, and foundation professionals! This week, June 17-21, 2018, is intended to draw an audience of Jewish Professionals from a variety of backgrounds looking to spend time deepening their connection to Jewish learning around relevant and substantive issues.
This Year's Theme: Jewish Journeys, Then and Now - Stories that Impact Our Lives
The stories of our tradition can inspire, educate, and amaze. But what are these stories really about? How can we read them to deepen our own relationship to tradition and use them to draw in students and constituents? Join us as we explore a series of unconventional Jewish journeys from our tradition that will challenge us to rethink our own relationships, narratives, and personal journeys.
The goals of our learning together include:
- Helping people to encounter each other through deep text learning.
- Facilitating discussions around how to take back to your workplace "pocket Torah" that will be useful in real-life work scenarios with colleagues, lay leaders, volunteers, and your constituents.
- Broadening our own knowledge and understanding of Jewish learning.
This seminar is intended for people working in Jewish professional organizations looking to deepen their connection to their work through Jewish text. Core faculty to include: Rabbi Avital Hochstein and Rabbi Elie Kaunfer.
All backgrounds welcome! Please be in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or for more information.
*Please note*: Every Hillel professional is now eligible for up to $2,500 annually from Hillel International to use toward professional development. For more information, you can access the grant guidelines here.
