High Holiday Leaders Training August 5-6, 2018

Registration is now open!

Program Information

Train, prepare, and practice to serve as shaliah tzibur during High Holidays at Hadar’s High High Holidays Leaders Training.

Shelihei tzibur rarely have the opportunity to hear others lead the Mahzor and prepare for the High Holidays with a community of peers. This program offers the chance to participate in an in-depth run through of leading tefilot in real time. Our goals include seeing the Mahzor as a whole and gaining a deeper understanding of the words, the overall melodies, and nusah to help us create a comprehensive learning experience.

The program will include:

  • Joey Weisenberg and Rabbi Julia Andelman leading davening and moving through all the tefilot, nusah and melodies.
  • Rabbi Elie Kaunfer and other Hadar faculty providing local explanations on hard words/allusions in a number of the tefilot.
  • Opportunities to swap melodies and strategies with the other participants.

This training is intended for those who will be leading High Holidays or who have a deep familiarity with the service already, but want to advance to the next level.

Hadar, meeting in the West End Synagogue, 190 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10023.
